Paying for Home Health Care
“How much does it cost?” is one of the first questions you may have when someone brings up the option of home health care services.
The cost of care can vary depending on the types of services needed. Before we can calculate an accurate cost of care, Belvedere will work with your or your loved one’s healthcare team to determine the level of care required, the current cost of care and how those costs may change over time. Home health care is generally far less expensive than assisted living or nursing home care.
If you have questions about paying for home health care, Belvedere can help. Contact us at (518) 694-9400 Option 4 or info@belvedereservices.com.
Long-Term Care Insurance
Long-term care insurance is designed to cover the cost of long-term care, including home health care, but may not cover 100 percent of expenses. Belvedere Home Care does contract with many long-term care insurance companies, including:
- CDPHP
- MVP
- Fidelis
- United Health Care
- Prime Health Choice
- VNA Home Care Options
- WellCare
- Eddy
Life Insurance Policy
You can use your life insurance policy to help pay for long-term care services by using Combination (Life/Long-Term Care) Products, Accelerated Death Benefits (ADBs), life settlements or viatical settlements. You can learn more about these options at www.longtermcare.acl.gov.
Medicaid
Medicaid will help cover the costs of home health care. Belvedere is an approved Medicaid provider but does not accept Medicare at this time.
Social Security
Social Security helps, but it generally isn’t enough to cover all costs of long-term care.
