How do I get started with home healthcare services?
Call us at (518) 694-9400 and select option 4 to speak with one of our caring and professional representatives. We will have our staff come to your home and conduct a free, no-obligation assessment. We will work with you to identify your needs and match a caregiver who can best assist you.
Will my family be involved in the care planning process?
Definitely. We encourage family involvement to ensure the care plan reflects your loved one’s needs and wishes.
How quickly can services start?
In many cases, services can begin within 24–48 hours after an initial consultation and care assessment.
Do I have to sign a contract to keep home health care services for a specified period?
No. We have all of our clients sign a services agreement at the time of the home care assessment. The Client Services Agreement is a document that goes over our policies and procedures, including the payment agreement. You can have services from as little as 2 hours to as much as 24 hours per day. We do ask that we receive a 2-week notice if services must end.
Why should I use Belvedere Home Care rather than hire a private home health caregiver?
Privately hiring an independent caregiver comes with risks, and there are added benefits when you use Belvedere Home Care. Belvedere Home Care will handle ALL the scheduling for you, and if your caregiver is sick, we find a qualified replacement. We also have Workers’ Compensation insurance should a caregiver hurt themselves while at your home. Additionally, Belvedere performs background checks on all of our employees, which can be costly when done individually. All of our staff are bonded and insured in the unfortunate event of an accident.
By hiring caregivers through Belvedere Home Care, we take all the risks and worries out of your home.
How does Belvedere Home Care select its expert caregivers?
We recruit only the very best caregivers, which begins with experience. Many of our caregivers have worked for decades in-home health care. We perform multiple interviews with our prospective employees, obtain references from reliable sources (healthcare institutions, home healthcare agencies, previous clients, etc.), and perform a complete background check. All of our caregivers are PCA certified.
Can I choose my caregiver?
Absolutely. We work with clients and families to match caregivers based on personality, care needs, language preferences, and experience.
What happens if my home health caregiver is sick and unavailable to work?
We have staff available 24-7 should your caregiver need to cancel for any reason. We have backup caregivers and will send a replacement caregiver that best suits your needs.
What types of services are offered in homecare?
Common services include personal care (bathing, dressing), meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, transportation, and companionship.
Are your home health care services available in assisted living communities and nursing homes?
Yes! We will provide home care wherever you need it. Whether you are living in your own home, nursing home, assisted or independent living community, rehab, or a hospital, we are here to help you when you need it.
What makes Belvedere Home Care different from other home health care agencies?
Our caregivers are passionate about helping improve the lives of the people they care for. We pride ourselves on matching the needs of your loved one with the experience of our caregivers. We provide transportation to doctor appointments, run errands and we can assist with pet care.

Is homecare only for seniors?
No. While many homecare clients are seniors, services are also available to adults and children with disabilities, those recovering from surgery or illness, and individuals needing temporary or long-term assistance.
Can homecare help with hospital-to-home transitions?
Absolutely. We offer transitional care services to support recovery at home after a hospital stay, reducing the risk of readmission.
Do you provide care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s?
Yes, we have specially trained caregivers who provide safe, compassionate, and structured care for individuals with memory-related conditions.
Do you offer respite care for family caregivers?
Yes. Respite care provides short-term relief for family caregivers, allowing them time to rest and recharge.
What are the hours of service?
Homecare can be scheduled for as little as a few hours a week to 24/7 live-in care, depending on your needs.
Is there a minimum number of hours required per visit?
No, however typically there is less availability when the hours are fewer.
How is progress or care monitored?
We conduct regular check-ins and ongoing evaluations.
Can I change the home care schedule if I have an appointment?
Changes can be easily accommodated with as little as one week’s notice. We understand that your needs may change, that’s why we are flexible. Your needs come first, and our philosophy is to make the schedule work for you. We will do everything possible to ensure that the schedule you request is the schedule you receive.
What if my home healthcare needs change?
We understand that your needs or level of care may change. Whether your hours, days or level of care changes, we are here to assist you.
How much do the home healthcare services cost?
Costs vary depending on the level of care, number of hours, and location.
Before we can give you the cost of care, we must identify the services you need. We provide transparent pricing during the care consultation. Please call us today at (518) 694-9400 to discuss your options.
Who pays the Belvedere Home Care caregiver? Me or you?
You will never need to worry about handling your caregiver’s payroll. All the billing and payroll are managed by Belvedere Home Care. We bill you and pay our employees directly. We prohibit any monetary transactions between a client and a caregiver for services we provide.
Are the home health care services covered by insurance?
We do contract with most all long-term care insurance companies, but we do not guarantee they will cover all of the costs. Belvedere accepts the following insurances:
CDPHP
Eddy Senior Care
Fidelis Care
Nascentia Health Options
VNS Health Plans
Nursing Home Transition and Diversion (NHTD) Medicaid Waiver Program
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Medicaid Waiver Program
Medicaid will help cover the costs of home health care. Belvedere is an approved Medicaid provider but does not accept Medicare at this time. We do accept private payments.
